We visited a few museums in Chania, and walked along the waterfront. Only one museum allowed photography, and then only photographing some things.
Nearly all of my pictures of the waterfront were hopelessly overexposed. I wonder what I did wrong, since I usually left the camera in one of it's semi-automagic modes, where it was supposed to deal with that for me.
Most excellent pictures from Chania
This is believed to be the signet of an early king of Chania. It depicts him towering over a walled city or fortress, presumably either Chania or its citadel. The whole thing is a bit more than an inch across.
Despite much tinkering, I couldn't the depth of field deep enuf to get
the whole thing in focus without such a slow exposure that there was
too much camera shake.

The museum had a number of mosaics depicting mythological scenes.
